Found in Brazil, south and east of Minas Gerais in cloud forests along river banks at elevations of 1100 to 1400 meters as a miniature sized, caespitose, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect, stout ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly-ovate-cordate, acute, abruptly narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall through winter on 1 to 2, short, .6" [1.5 cm] long, simultaneously 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising from the apex of the ramicaul. This can occur for years out of the same leaf.
