[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture of a yellow-fronted amazon (sc. Amazona ochrocephala) (or some close sub-family species) taken at the Bird Park (Parque das Aves) in Foz do Iguacu in Brazil.

The Bird Park has more than 900 birds of 150 species. The majority of them are Brazilian birds. A third of these species are endangered. All birds seen in the Park originate from zoos, breeders authorized by IBAMA or rehabilitation centres. The Bird Park does not accept birds of unknown origin. All animals are registered and an annual report is given to the Brazilian Zoological Society and IBAMA.
Some of the birds are rehabilitated but cannot be returned to nature.

Personally for any lover of birds and photographer this park deserve a visit because of the amount of possibilities to capture on film a lot of different colorful species flying around you in the large walkthrough aviaries.

I wish my visit would have been longer in the park but I only had less than an hour to visit it before closing.

I only cropped a bit and sharpened the picture for posting.

Hi Stephen,
I am stumped on the ID also.(Which is not hard to do) I checked several sources I know for identifying alot of these types of birds with no luck. It is a beautiful bird. Superb detail and colors in this shot. Good Luck

Hello Stephan,

I am green with envy over the capture of this wonderful .... bird.

Details are only surpassed by the exceptional green colors, great BG and POV.

I thank you for sharing your ... with us. :-)

Wow! This is awesome, the DOF is excellent on this one plus a great exposure. Paul :)

Hi Stephan

Wonderful capture. Nicely composed. Light was good and compliments the shot. Sharpness and detail are spot on. Nice work. Thanks.

Nice shot Stephan. Very good detail, exposure and color. Great note & links. Well done & Thank You.

Bravo!

Stephan, although I'm from Brazil, I still don't know Foz do Iguaçu, but I intend to go there someday.

This is an excellent capture. Excellent sharpness and details all around.

I like composition too.

a prefect shot! all the details are very clear. very sharp, colors are brilliant. The perch is very conspicous. bg is great except for that wood on top of the birds head. TFS!

Fantastic capture,lovely colour and comp.
Excellent work...

Wonderful caption, excellent details.
Just one thing, look at the front. There is a little blue there. This is a Blue Fronted Amazon, Amazona Aestiva.
