[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Passion Fruit...it´s nice to eat and to appreciate it´s flowers, "Passiflora edulis sims".
In portuguese, passion fruit's name is "maracujá" (from the brazilian indian's Tupi language). So, "flor de maracujá" is the brazilian name for the passion flower. It likes the hot weather from the tropics.
But if you think that it´s name came from any hot passion between some couples, you´re wrong. It´s passion name came from the Christ Passion!!!
Well, when the portugueses arrived in Brazil (1500), there was some Jesuits aboard. Considering it was Easter season, they called the first land they saw "Monte Pascal", or Easter Mount, or Paschal Mount. It was the season for many "maracujás" in Brazil, so they give to it the name of Passion Fruit. Christ Passion!
This is my capture from yesterday, specially to TN, and the Easter was just a week ago. Now you know that there are no coincidence! Exactly 506 years after the Jesuits had discovered their passion flower, I´m happy to show you my "flor de maracujá". Hope you like it...

What a weird looking flower. I've never seen it before. Just as beautiful as the fruit is tasty. Excellentr POV and detail. Great colours and lighting.

Beautiful flower! I have seen passion fruit flowers before but never have I seen this one - it is so beautiful. I just wonder how big is it?
Image is of very good quality, only remark is that the upper part of the flower is cut.

Very interesting flower, I didn`t know that it could also be a fruit...I heard that maracuja icecream exist. ;)
