[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The harbor of Buzios lies wide open to scavengers which profit from the reject carcasses of fish fisherman throw onto the beach. The aforesaid beach is the domain of two competetive species...the herring gull and the black vulture. As an ornithologist/ethologist I can tell you that it's a pretty even match! The vultures have a slight upper hand on land combat, whereas the gulls have an upper hand in aerial manueverabilty. At last count it was gulls- six fish heads... vultures 5! The "game" goes on every day, as soon as the fisherman get their fish cadavers onto the beach! It's as good as an Ali-Foreman match!

this is a very busy picture with a number of points of interest. Not complex in nature, but interesting non the less.

Your picture gives us a good idea of what happens in this match. No one is eating here, just playing.
Good work: picture and informative note.

Excellent note and image combo Michael. I like the composition and setting. Who was the referee?

Very well done and thanks for posting.
