The owl bad road possesses this name because he/she lives in holes dug in the soil. Although she is capable to dig his/her own hole, he/she lives in abandoned holes for armadillos, prairie dog and burrows of others encourage.
Of small load, the owl bad road possesses a round head, he/she has white brows, yellow eyes and long legs. Unlike most of the owls, the male is lightly larger than the female, and this is, usually, darker of the the male.
For feeding also of insects, it is very useful to the man, benefitting him in the agriculture. The owl bad road eats small rodents (mice), insects and snakes. She walks without a destination while it hunts and after catching his/her prey it is going to a perch, as a fence, or it lands in the own soil.
The only owl seen with easiness and active during the day. He/she likes to be lodging on cupinzeiros and fence. When somebody she approximate gives threatening alarm signs, lowering and lifting the body. Close of the places where are lodgings is easy to find the regurgitos, called popularly acorns, that are remains no digestible of regurgitated foods. Looking carefully can be known than the bird fed, therefore in these acorns they are remains quitinosos of insects and bones of birds and small mammals.
When the nestlings are with 14 days can be seen the entrance of the hole, waiting for the adults and for the food. The nestlings leave the nest with approximately 44 days and they begin to hunt insects when they are with 49 to 56 days.

Incubation: 28 to 30 days
Habitat: From Canada to Tierra del Fuego in the south end of South America. They live at the fields and savannahs of the whole Brazil.

Linda família, boa foto, composição e excelente notas.
A foto está ótima, sei da dificuldade de se aproximar desses bichinhos, mas o que achei legal foi os dados em notas, muito bom.

Gostei da foto, como já comentei animais na naturaza é muito difícil de fotografar.
Posso ser sincera, gostei mais do WORKSHOP.
