Order (Orden): Odonata
I don’t know the taxonomy of this insect, but its black color makes an interesting species very attractive.
Taken in jpeg, cropped and resized. No Flash, no tripod. Shutter speed: 1/25 sec., Aperture: F3.6, ISO 100.
No se sobre la taxonomia de esta libelula, pero su color negro la hace muy atractiva.
Place: Villavicencio, Meta, Colombia.

Hola Juan,
thank you for posting this nice picture of an extraordinary dragonfly. The colour of the wings and also the seize of the hindwings is impressive. Pretty good focus and beautiful composition.
Great sharpness with respect to 'handheld' and 1/25 sec.
Best wishes, Peter

Hello Juan,
this black one looks wonderful, so full of details and superp colors.
Very good close up composition with great colors and very nice DOF. Your subject stands out very well from the OOF BG.beautiful.

Hi Juan,
In my opinion, I guess this is one of Diastatops spp. not Zenithoptera spp. It could be Diastatops obscura (female). Could you show me another view of them? You can email me. I've been researching odonata for a few years, so I might help you.
Thanks for sharing wonderful dragonfly. :-)
Regards,
Kevin

Hello Juan,
I think it's a Zenithoptera sp. (Libellulidae), but I can't help with the species. As far as I know, there is only one recorded in Colombia, that is, Z. fasciata, but other species (Z. lanei, Z. viola) might occur in the south. It seems to me that the important detail is clearly visible here, the short depression of median antenodal part of the costal vein of the forewing (Costa antenodal del ala anterior con corta extensión cóncava cerca de su parte media).
Please check the following:

Best regards,
