Hi!
The Lanceolated Monklet (Micromonacha lanceolata)is a species of bird in the Bucconidae family, the puffbirds. Its genus, Micromonacha, is monotypic,( there is only one species for that genus) The species lives in the Amazon rainforest, and builds in burrows excavated on the soft soil of the rainforest.
This particular bird heard me walking outside her nest and decided to take a look and evaluate my intentions, she sat there looking at me, allowing me to take some shots, then walked back and she resumed her incubation.
Thanks for stopping by!
