So impressive in-flight close-up picture. Amazing POV almost directly under the bird and great colours. Especially I like sweet eye of the bird. Excellent timing and sharpness of the picture. Exposure is quite well too. Image is cropped and composed excellently. My best regards and compliments.

I see you're using your new equipment more and more like a pro :)
This is really a superb in-flight...let's be honest, one that would have been very very difficult with a compact camera :)
The fast focusing body and lest let you get a very nice clear image of this lovely heron, and you good zoom got close enough to fill this frame well.
Very good exposure management and wonderful natural colors.
Also very nice diagonal composition and presentation.

Hi Jose,
this is a very nice in flight photo of the heron with that wonderful red eye.There is some softness to this shot but that is probably mostly due to my monitor and not your focus as I now use a 27" monitor and not my old 19".I like these birds very much and in the spring I'll hope to see them again.It looks like even with your 300mm lens you were very close to this one as I can imagine just how big this must look on your screen.It looks like that you are getting good use out of your 40D,so how do you like it?Me I'm still getting used to mine. Tfs.

This is the last word in shooting a bird in flight. The Heron is frozen in mid flight with remarakable clarity and colours, especially that red eye. The deep blue sky makes a perfect background for the subject.
