[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Spanish]
The number of legs has a centipede on the number of segments that make up your body and these numbers vary according to species. Centipedes have one pair of legs on each segment and two pairs in each of the last two segments.
A fully endowed adult centipedes can have between 15 and 177 pairs of legs.
In the first segment of the trunk has a pair of venomous fangs, called caliper, which are the first pair of legs modified into two large nails attached to a venom gland and used both to defend and to capture and paralyze prey, acting as additional mouthparts.
To help balance and agility, the legs of most species of centipedes become progressively longer the further away they are from the head. His last pair of legs is in the back of his body and is equipped with sensory bristles. These legs act like a couple of additional antennas, allowing you to back out centipedes in tight spaces.
Centipedes can drop off their feet when their survival depends on it and are able to regenerate these body parts after losing them.
The escolopendromorfos, like the rest of chilopods, are predators that hunt small animals, usually arthropods. Prey is captured by the last pair of legs, fitted with strong thorns and nails. Then, turning the body, pierce the caliper, which inject venom that paralyzes or kills them.

Hola Edgar!
excelente macro!
saludos y gracias x compartir
