Hola José Miguel,
Has conseguido una bella postal con esta bonita fotografia, esta princesa sobre lo que por mi tierra se le llama plantas de navidad. Un resultado excelente. Si me permites, decirte que a mi personalmente me gustan más las composiciones más rectamgulares, si son cuadradas da más sensación de simetria, en fin esto son gustos.

Una bonita captura Jose Miguel, llena de colores intensos y bien saturados, con agradable encuadre y un DOF muy ajustado (quizás demasiado) y correcto punto de vista.
Me encanta el detalle de la trompa totalmente desplegada y la definición de sus llamativos ojos.

Hello José,
this is a pretty and unusual butterfly, well captured with good details and a perfect pose. Between those brightly coloured blossoms to subdued brown of wings stands out in contrast. The pattern of that butterfly looks quite unusual with those orange circled spots to the centre of wings that look like eye spots in development to become clearer and clearer after many more generations to follow ....
Sorry no idea that comes close to any precise identification. But from the patterns I am rather sure this butterfly does not belong to the Satyrinae subfamily. More likely it belongs to the family (or subfamily to Lycaenidae) of "Metalmarks" - "Riodinidae" of which there are many species in the Neotropics.
Really curious if some of our specialists here on TN finds out the ID of that remarkable and well captured butterfly.

A wonderful macro work here by you!
This butterfly looks very beautiful with all its colors and charming pattern, so well visible from this POV.
Also the details and great and sharp, the DOF is impeccable and i have to say i really love the metallic-like reflections from his eye.

This is an excellent presentation for the festive season of a species of butterfly new to me. But I agree with Peter that this is not a satyrid. It belongs to the Nemeobidae, possibly of the genus Alesa.

I think the flowers are the same as the ones visited by the Paper Wasp? Very beautiful composition!

Me encanta el colorido que proporcionan esas curiosas flores rojas. Lo que más resalta, no obstante, son esos ojos metalizados que tiene la mariposa.

not necessary to add a positive comment on this picture. I think everything has been said - except exact species identification:
Peter and 'Argus' are right that it is not a Satyridae species. It is a species of the
-- genus: Eurybia
-- family: Riodinidae (Nemeobiidae)
It's not easy to identify the different Eurybia species, but your specimen looks very similar to
-- Eurybia dardus
But I'm not 100% sure on the identity!

Es de remarcarlos ojos, la espiritrompa, los ocelos, que se muestran muy claramente, con el desnfoque adecuado del fondo para resaltar al sujeto, hay que bucear en la red pues la informacion es mucha en lepidopteros; es lo que me lleva mas tiempo a mi personalmente pero creo que es vital no presentar fotos sin datos.
