[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When driving in the satara region,I noticed this owl high up in a tree,it looked like he was washing himselves with the use of the rainwater and with flapping his wings get rid of the excessive drops, between the raindrops I managed to take a few shot wherof this is one of the better ones and shows the impressive wingspan of this giant.

The Giant Eagle Owl
The Giant Eagle Owl is as large as Pel’s Fishing Owl and also favours large leafy trees along watercourses as its roost site (the two species may sometimes be found in close proximity). However, the watercourses need not contact water for the Giant Eagle Owl since it hunts far out into the surrounding savannah and thus can live in habitats from arid semi-desert to tall moist woodland.
The huge size and generally pale appearance are distinctive. It is a pale grey colour and has a black rim to the facial disc, with stout “ears”, large dark eyes with naked pink eyelids. It has a wingspan of up to 155cm. Sexes are alike in colouration and markings. The young has a crown and wing-coverts and the their under parts are barred in a smoky grey.

Hi Paul,
Whow, great catch I saw it only sitting in a tree see my previous posting.
The pink eyelid is so good to see in spite of the distance.
Great job.
Greetings
Vivian

Hello Paul,
I've also made photo's of this owl: between branches or with the eyes closed, but this is a beauty in action!
(Ralf did good work in his workshop.)
Regards,
Peter

Hi Paul.
Very expressive picture and nice captured scene. I like excellent details of the image, its perfect composition and your POV. When the sky is not so coloured I usually try to replace its original colour on blue colour tones. It is not so difficult with PS and sometimes does picture more pleasant to eye. Well done and TFS. My best regards.
Alexei.

Hoi Paul,

Groeten, Jacob
