* Habitat: Young forests, areas destroyed by fire. Often grows with conifers.
* Range: Throughout Europe, Canada, southeastern United States to the Midwest.
* Native to Europe, Canada, USA.

The white birch is also sensitive to deseases. Alot of them caught something in Southern Ontario when I lived there as a child and teenager. Up here in Central Ontario they are numerous, which is great to see. All have there own characteristic, shape, size. A very interesting tree.
BTW, I saw the largest ever in all my life, my arms spread out, just over 6 feet, the tree trunk 12 feet or more, I kid you not. Massive tree.
Anyway, execelent view and well presented. Well done.

Mike

Very interesting, I don't think I see this before, I grew up in one of the rainforest jungle in S.E.Asia, I used to play in the jungle, but I never seen this before. Great shot, detail sharp and clear, very well done girl. Thanks for sharing.

Especially for Janice - this tree is called in Polish - Brzoza. Repeat Janice - Brzrzrzrzzzzrzrza ;-) Excellent picture Joanna, very good details and textures. I like to touch white areas on birch's bark - there are very smooth.

Can you see the face? It is a king with a crown and beard, one eye, a tiny dot for a nose, and he is smiling (at me pronouncing his name - Brzrzrzrzzzzrzrza)
Excellent Joanna. I love these trees too. TFS.

Hi Joanna
A beautiful texture, and I can see an interesting face here, reminds me of Fatso, from the Ghostly Trio - Casper the Friendly Ghoast. I think we need a theme for patterns in nature? TFS

Joanna, an unusual shot. A good one to those who like to find out figures and forms in abstract things, just like we do sometimes with the clouds.

Nice colors.

Seems like a photo taken by a satellite of some strange country with a large mountain covered with snow. Iam so used to see snow than I see it everywhere.
Thanks Joanna.

Hello Joanna,

You showed again that you're able to not only look but also see the nice things. What I like in your photo's is the simple details of natural things. And also the colours not adjusted unnaturally.

Keep on shooting! Maybe a bigger beach photo?
