Just got a question of goran (sgo) if I have been able to take some butterfly shots in the krugerpark,in fact we saw quite a few butterflies but during game drives out of the car are these fast ones impossible to capture,in the restcamps however I was lucky enough to capture some colorfull ones, this one which is probably a moth I captured in letaba restcamp when we were relaxing in the visiters poolside in the end of the morning,I have no clue of the ID,maybe someone can help me with it,the moth was quite big sized and I estimate the wingspan was 8 to 10 cm,hope you like it and TFW,

for the ones who are interested in my daily routine,we are sailing at the moment with perfect weather, sunny and almost no wind under the scicilian coast underway from augusta to Alicante.

Hej Paul,
What a wonderful moth you managed to capture!
The eyes on its hindwings look fantastic, very sharp details of patterns and lovely colours.
At that size it must have been pretty impressive to see it fly.
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

bonjour paul
a voir ses antennes je suppose qu'il s'agit du papillon de nuit,j'aime beaucoup de motifs sur ses ailes et ses couleurs.
le POV n'est pas extra mais il faut faire avec.

Hello Paul,
Interesting shot of a Saturniid moth, related to the European Peacock Moth but not of the same genus.
Nice sharp shot with good colouring, the flash doing its job well.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Paul,
What a nice surprise and speedy response! And what a beautiful moth you've captured here - it's awfully big with those 10 cm wings! - with those soft, lovely purple-brown-grey colours and terrific cat-eyes drawing all our attention while repelling possible predators! Thank you very much for this impressive portrait of an African Peacock moth!
Bon voyage and a happy return!
With best regards,
Goran
