[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
found a group of spotted hyena's early in the morning on our game drive in the satara region,we thought that this ugly looking fellow could be the matriarch of the clan.

on my website you can see here a movie of the meeting with this group.

Spotted Hyena
Hyena are social, living in clans, headed by a large matriarch. They are predominantly nocturnial, and although renownedscavengers, are also highly effective preditors.Their distinctive "whooooo-oop" call can be heard at night.

Hi Paul,
Great shot of this hyena, it looks like it has visited a eye doctor and got a new one.
Great shot with special details.

Hi Paul.
You have brought rich impressions from the fascinating trip and remarkable pictures for memory of it. This shot is one of them. Great impressiveness of the pictured scene. amazing specimen and excellent quality of the reproduction of the animal and its surroundings. Bravo and my best wishes.

This hyena really looks like its predetermined character: cunning, sly and always seems to have something up its 'sleeve'.

I guess it's early in the morning so the lighting ain't too good. but good eye and good focus. its eye really looks horrible as though its about to pop out. did it see you coz it looks like it is looking straight at you.

Allo Paul

Mooie natuurlijke opname!

Hi Paul,
An excellent shot on this Spotted Hyena. Well composed and framed shot. Exposure looks very good. The colors and detail in her fur look very good. I have watched several specials on National Geographic Channel on Hyeas. They are amazing creatures.

Hello Paul,
Once again you have excellent details and colors in this capture. He looks as if he has had a tough go of it, but has a full belly.

Hello Paul

This is a wonderful posting. This resembles Ed from the Lion King animated film.Great eye contact, and super detail of all the battle scars.Nicely composed and good sharp details.TFS

Hi, Paul. You've really travelled the world! You might consider changing time zones, it's all latitude and similar longitude, ha ha.

That eye looks sad, uncomfortable. A testament to the social nature of these animals, as even without binocular vision this creature has eked out existence on the african savannah.
