[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This bug - about 12 mm in length - occupied the whole flower as a resting place in the sun.
I'm not sure about the species identity of the bug. I can find similar species in my textbooks but not exactly this one.
NOTE ADDED later: Filipe 'extramundi' proposed
- Coreus marginatus
- family: Coreidae.
I think this is correct based - among others - on characters of the antennae.
The species overwinters as imago. It prefers humid forest/grassland edges.
Body length: 10 to 16 mm.

Many insects could be observed at the sun-exposed forest margin today where I found also this bug. Among the butterflies were Nymphalis io, Aglais urticae and Gonepteryx rhamni. Particularly interesting but very busy were a number of solitary bee species and wasps. A large Carabus-beetle was too fast to take a suitable picture.

- bright sun light
- ISO 200
- handheld

Thank you, Felipe, for your species identification!

L'insecte est fier sur sa fleur jaune.

Hi Peter.
I am not very good with bugs, but I think this might be the same one I posted HERE, that is a Coreus marginatus.
Lovely capture, with good magnification, very nice composition and details.
Best regards, Felipe.

Hi Peter,
Excellent shot.
Superb sharpness, great details.

Hi Peter,

Great capture with effective DOF over the span of the bug. despite the hard light exposure is well handled. Very nice work Peter.

Hi Peter,
