[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Tory Island is a remote, treeless place lying nine miles off the county’s northern coast. It is three miles long and half a mile wide. Its situation in the Tory Sound, a treacherous section of ocean, makes it extremely vulnerable to bad weather. Overall, it is described as a bleak and inhospitable place. Nevertheless, it has a population of 170 living in four towns, imaginatively titled East Town, West Town, Middletown and Newtown.

The island is famous for its school of painters whose work has been displayed throughout Europe and even in New York. The most famous painter is Patsy Dan Rodgers, alias the King of Tory.

Every time I see your landscapes the word WOW just jumps out of my mouth. Another beautiful shot with everything perfect about it. Compositon is fab, sharpness, colour and light excellent. Great notes.

A stunning shot and very typical of much of Northern Ireland's coastline. Lovely true-to-life tones throughout and great detail in the rocks and water - super shot!

Cheers Stephen
The square format really works here I think. I like the way my eye is draw in an anti clockwise direction through the picture. I like the smooth and sharp contrawst in water and rock. Overall I really have enjoyed looking into you photograph here. Thanks

Hello Stephen,
This is an impressive POV with as usual, superb colors, DOF and exposure. These notes are most interesting too. Thanks,

Hi Steve,
I've hear a lot about Tory island. I once was responsible over 12 students from Tory Island that had an internship in the USA. They told me a lot about their island. I've also seen a documentary about the painters on Tory island. They also showed the famous rock ofcourse.
This is a wonderful view of the island where you show us the roughed coastline of the island. This is again a superb composition where the rock in the FG acts as a perfect achor and a start of a wonderful leadline.
