Wonderful capture , Angela . I use an S2 as my backup , great camera . I take my two year old with me sometimes , and we both have a great time . You may even give a budding naturalist a good start . Enjoy your outing . Kevin .

This is a nice and lucky shot! I am fascinated by raptors. We have many species where I live but I don't see them often or of so, they are little dark spot gliding in the sky. Once, I had one passing through my backyard like an arrow to capture a Dove but the time I get my camera, I didn't fin it anymore. I went out and walk silently on my lawn and then, just over me, coming from an apple tree, I hear the clapping of his wings very, very close as he just got off with its prey :((( Those guys are always hiding from me...!
You caught nice details in a good pose from the bird and even a catch light in his eye! We can see all those beautiful patterns on his wings and exposure is very good! Well done and TFS,

A very nice shot on this hawk. I am not 100 percent sure, but I believe this is a Red Shouldered Hawk. They are very common down in your neck of the woods. Light qualiy is very nice here. Great warm colors and nice sharp detail. Looks great in its natural environment.

It's posture is interesting with that one wing opened a bit.Had it just flown in? or was that the injured side?
Good eye contact and ur attention to the bark and its presentation is realy good.
TFS & Cheers
