Hello Jim,
Fine shot of a Little Blue Heron. This is sharp and with good lighting and action. As he is walking to the left of the picture it would be better to have more space in front of the heron on the left side.
Regards, Ivan

Hi Jim,
Just a comment on the ID. Not Ardea herodias (much larger, more massive, huge and thicker bill, legs variations of flesh tones in all morphs). This is a dark morph, adult, Egretta rufescens (Reddish Egret) in prealternate (i.e., prebreeding)molt.

This bird can be separated from adult Egretta caerulea (Little Blue Heron) by noting the tip-off distinguisher - the two-tone bill (black tip rest pinkish) not found in the Little Blue Heron, as well as the blackish, thicker legs, more consistent with the Reddish Egret.

Great shot of reddish egret, nice POV and composition... lovely detail and coloring. Nice lighting. Love the expression you've captured, it is in hunting mode, scanning for a good place to stop and wait for dinner to drop by, lol. TFS
