Evening all.

This shot is very lucky to still be alive! I accidentally formatted the memory card twice before I realised I got my cards mixed up! Fortunately I found some software that recovered 50 files, a real life saver!

This chap is Nico, one of the oldest Silverbacks in Europe at over 90 years old in human years. He lives on gorilla island at Longleat. Apparently he has a great time guarding his pad from the noisy seals who roam the lake by throwing sticks at them! Here is some info on the silverback.

He has a great expression on his face and there is another favourite of him I may add at a later date. Shot at ISO 400 and at 300mm. PP involved a crop, levels and highlight tool, followed by a sharpening pass.

I still have 3000 words to write for my assignment and under 20 hours time (with no sleep) to do it! So I best crack on with it, my critiques will follow on Monday.

Hi Simon nice shot in the zoo sharp and full of expression well composed tfs rgds Necip.

Nico looks absolutely smashing in this portrait picture, Simon!
I am amazed at that almost human expression on its aged face [like mine :-)!].
The Yeti skull I saw many years ago in a monastery at Pangboche (Everest region) in Nepal bears strong resemblance to Nico's!

Firstly, good luch on that assignment! I know it's monday, so i'm guessing by now that deadline has expired, but i'm sure eveything gone allright :) Get some sleep now and don't worry about TN for a good time...rest...you've earned it!
Nowfor this shot: it's terrific!
The expression on his face is indeed fantastic and the pose you captured him in is excellent! One can also easily see that he's pretty old.
The composition here is realyl good and the details throughtout the entire frame are amazing for a f/5.6.
...Thanks God for that recovery software! ;)
