While taking a walk on the Stowe Bike Path, which is great for walking too, I heard some leaves rustling next to the path so stopped and waited awhile and soon I heard the familar Chip - chip of this cute little Chipmunk. He/she was exploring this rotten log and wasn't quite sure what I was doing there. Chipmunks are quite common in Vermont. When I was growing up as a child we had a cottage on Lake Champlain , we'ld always have a barrel of corn in the shed along next to a barrel of bird seed. Had to feed all the animals and I had one that would run up my leg to get the corn from my hand. Course that was way before we had to worry about rabies. I think Chipmunks are cute little things with their black and white stripes on their backs. They are always scurrying around somewhere too!

Thanks for your visit and thanks also for your comments! Have a GREAT day!

Hello Donna

A cute shot of this little chap. The composition is well done.I love the natural settings, and earthy tones and colours. He is posing nicely for you.TFS

HI Donna.
I normally find ground shots lacking in some nice composition, but with this old stump and the curled up leaves, it makes a compliment to this lil critter. He does look surprised to see you.

Hello Donna,
An active fellow well captured in the natural environment and doing his business!
But still he takes the time to strike a pose for the photographer...
A nice capture, well composed!

Hi Donna,
oh cute, great seeing those little critters back must mean spring is here to stay :-).
Nice shot, I like its pose, seems to be very curious or quite hungry.

hi donna!
excellent cacth, great composition and colors.
i like it.

Love the expression on his face, like: OK, get your pic and let me be, unless you have some treats for me!

We don't have these in England, I saw one in Montreal a few weeks ago and was surprised how small they are. A great shot, I really like the framing.

Hi Donna,

A nice image of the chipmunk, the photo has a good composition, sharpness and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.
