I sense that I am getting "carried away" with posting so many desert trees. I had such fun in the great early evening light using that wide angle lens that allows one to actually get the whole tree in a relatively close shot. I left the saturation as it was on my Mac which probably means it is too dark for PC's.

I titled this "Relic" because the trees here around Bishop were "born" in wetter days, back before the LA Water District grabbed the water rights to this area and diverted so much water south in the early twentieth century. There are no young trees here; just relics of the past.

Hello Evelynn, a fine light and contrast with good exposure nice tones of colour and clarity throughout tfs rgds necip.

A beautiful capture of this old tree Evelynn!
I like the way the branches light up from the suns rays. It's well balanced with colours that all seem to go with one another. (If that makes sense)

The colours look great to me (on my Mac) I really like the character this old tree brings out. Nicely done and interesting notes.

Hi Evelynn.- Another grat photo. Lovely colors and beatiful coposition. I really like your landscapes.
Your Friend Luis52.

Hi Evelynn,
I for one do not think you are getting carried away with your desert tree photos because the way they are lit up is absolutely wonderful and mellow looking on the eyes. These photos are an excellent endorsement of the area you captured them in,makes a fellow wish he were there.Because there are no young trees in this area it is important to document them as they will not be around forever and once gone-gone for good, unfortunately. About the photo you have great colour, focus and point of view working well for you and those mountains add much interest so well done,I like it,Tfs. Bob

Hi Evelynn,
How wonderful could it be a shot of a simple dessert tree!
That' s a tree with character!
The sky got was great, you used the wide angle lens pretty well to achieve this great clouds formations, and make this image even better.
Could I ask, did you increased the colour saturation in PP? Or is the deafault mode on the camera?
Because on my Mac the colours looks so vivid and well saturated.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,

nice colors good focus interesting contrast between the blue sky and tree

Hi Evelynn ,
very nice shot with excellent composition.
it has vivid colours and nice sharpness.
lovely shot.
thanks for sharing
best wishes

What a wonderful shot you have here Evelynn. the detail and use of the wide angle lens close in is excellent. the colours even on my PC are excellent and well saturated and not too dark at all for my windows PC.

I love the composition, but feel that you have just slightly missed in on this one. The tree is a touch too central (IMO of course) and woudl have moved slightly to the left with no problems what so ever leaving the space of the wider side of the tree to flow ot the mountains in the BG. But the colours are excellent. Were you using a CP filter. it looks like you might have been...

Execellent use of the light as well.

Hello Evelynn
What a wonderful landscape you captured,

Hi Evelynn,
This a masterpiece photo in most aspect. Light, colours and composition are really great. I agree with Enmma about moving a little the tree to the left, but I find your option quite right.

Hello Evelynn
It's not enough to say it's such a beautiful composition....u 've such a great concept and insight to 've presneted this one...so nicely down with the PoV, DoF and the colours all coming together to make a supershot.
TFS & Cheers

Hi Evelynn,
On my PC colours are saturated; a bit like it is taken with a polarizer?
Well composed image.

Hi Evelynn,
Such a sad story: " There are no young trees here; just relics of the past."
I did find it a bit dark on my HP; a minor issue because
you are, ARE, an expert on capturing landscapes. And this one too is simply OUTSTANDING.
Have enjoyed your work.
Best regards,

Hi Evelynn, I like a lot photos of great trees, and this one is wonderful, splendid contrast with amazing blu sky, lovely landscape with great light and colors, very well done, have a great week end, ciao Silvio

This place is wonderful, Evelynn,
the colours so warm and the atmosphere so silent and peaceful.
Thanks for that post, bye

It's been a while since I've seen your stuff. Looks like great work with my favorite lens! The sky is wonderful. I'm good with the positioning of the tree -- it's a bit off center and provides a nice informal balance with the mountains in the bg. You're making me homseick for California and the Sierra!

When I see very ballanced and artistic composition from distance, I can already bet, it is your pic, Evelynn :-). Very nice colours and DOF. TFS

Hello Evelynn

Another excellent landscape. The blue sky with clouds is awesome. The focus and details are razor sharp. The lighting is superb. It really creates atmosphere.TFS

I quite like the amount of saturation here Evelynn. Did you also use a polarizing filter? Nice lighting on the tree.

Hello Evelynn
Elle est très joli cette photo de ce beau paysage avec ce bel arbre , belle composition les couleurs sont jolies, ainsi que les ce magnifique ciel gris- bleu
Bravo et merci....JP
Les sourires demain

Hi Evelynn,
These trees still look like they are standing up side down. The little twigs just look like the root system of the tree. That is probably also caused by the light. Those twigs do contrast wonderfully with the blue sky. Now I am going to write something you probably would already expect. The F-stop. F16 maybe? :) I do like the vertical composition and your low POV, and made the tree look majestic.

Hello Evelynn,

Very nice shoot here, very good use of the Lens!!
The colors and the light are wonderfull!
