[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The vernacular name of Himantopus himantopus is "Uzunbacak [TR]" or "Black-winged stilt". It is easily distinguisable with its long and reddish legs. Its lenght is 35-40cm and its wingspan is 70-85cm.
Wings are black and most of other parts white. The male of this species is different with blackish on top of head from female with white head.
It is relatively common in many wetland all over the Turkiye. It lives in sea shores too.
