|Probably won't win any prizes with this shot due to the subject matter, however I still find creatures like this fascinating despite the bad reputaion. These guys were feeding away to their hearts content on this piece of bird guano and didn't seem to mind me while I fired off a few shot of them. They even let me get within 10cm with the end of the lens, obviously knowing I wasn't about to swat them! Either that or they were just so occupied with they're meal....LOL|
It's a handheld shot, although in fairness the camera was resting on the same wall were they were.
Hope you like despite the subject and all comment/critique would be most welcome.....Ade

Indeed not a delighting sight, but you managed to keep them all with the depth of field, which is very good. Perhaps you should have lightened the photo a little bit.
Flies are affraid of motion.
If you move slow enough you can even touch them (eating or not)
I like the shot great depth of field, pin sharp all the way. It's a shame this site has become like it has, no one comments on the skill of the photographer now. All they care about is how cute the subject is. I see shots like this that are well exposed pin sharp and well captured getting hardly any points. Then you see a picture of something thats cute, thats badly exposed and not in focus get 50 points.
Great detail, exposure and DOF on the flies Ade... but I have to say the rest of picture is a pile of...
Sorry, couldn't resist. When are you next down this way?
