And yet another Whitetail deer. Just a babe, yearling, mah deer is way over to the left. I'll post her tomorrow, she will be delivering sometime this spring, May.
A typical scene with a deer, here, on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. The deer are out and about, not as skiddish. My opportunities are much better. Spring like weather, still snow.

Nice picture with very good colours and very good composition, the deer looks so cute :)
Why didn't you use lower aperture value than F8.0?

Great shot Mike,
very nice colours and details, this is a real winter postcard shot.
Thanks for posting

What a great photo! Like form story about paradise!
I love your toy-deer! You steel have winter?
In Poland as I posted yesterday - spring came!

Mike Great shot of this yearling with excellent composition. I like this setting with the tree-line running behind the deer with the snow FG. It works very well IMO. Thanx Mike, Very good job on this!

You did a great work,

Beautiful "job" in all aspects, Mike. Fantastic colors, just like a painting IMO. The deer is so sharp that it looks superimposed. Great job! TFS

Belle prise nature avec de belle couleurs et un bon éclairage.

Félicitations !

Great shot Mike, she doesn't seem to be afraid of having her picture taken. I checked out Manitoulin Island on a map, it must have endless amounts of photo opportunities.

Most of what I would have said, is said. However, I still wanted to let you know how wonderful this shot is, and to thank you for posting it for all to enjoy. So... thank you.

Well Done I like the cropping on the right corner

Very nice composition and presentation. Probably as good as you can get with the S5000, snow and deer elements are well exposed.

Excellent capture Mike, especially being hand held. You are certainly a pro at nature photography. I like the way the deer is looking directly at the camera. Good shot.

No idea about the distance, Mike, but this is really above the average result seen on shots taken with comparable material. The deer comes perfectly in the frame and has a very natural leg pose. Right environment, clean colors and very good light. Exposure takes very well in account the snow reflection, while the snow itself enhances the light on the animal. Very good shot!

A really cute deer, nice background and well matched frame. Well done.
