First of all I would like to thank each and every one for taking a look and write comments on my previous uploads. Much appreciated.

This youn brown bear really acted like a comedian. Like he wanted to be sure all photographers overthere did take notice of his capers :)
Shot taken while I was standing on a platform (specially made for photographers to flee on when the bears come to close) near Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park, Alaska.
This is the place where Brooks River does run in to NakNek Lake.

From Wikipedia

The brown bear (Ursus arctos) is a species of bear distributed throughout the Northern hemisphere. Weighing up to 130–700 kg (290-1,500 pounds), the larger races of brown bear tie with the Polar bear as the largest extant land carnivores. The grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis), the Kodiak Bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi), and the Mexican brown bear are North American subspecies of the brown bear. However, DNA analysis has recently revealed that the identified subspecies of brown bears, both Eurasian and North American, are genetically quite homogeneous, and that their genetic phylogeography does not correspond to their traditional taxonomy.[2] It is sometimes referred to poetically as the bruin.

Thanks in advance for viewing and critiques.
Warm regards and have a great weekend, Harry

great action capture. good focus and colors nice expression on the bear

Hi Harry,
I love this shot, and being a former stand up comedian myself,I love the title.
Your capture is excellent. A great pose and wonderful clarity and colour.
I was wondering myself whether this might actually be a female (on account of the titties) but then I guess you'd know bears better than me.
Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff!

Great nature shot. I like the water dripping from the paw, the outstanding focus and perfect exposure giving rich natural browns and blues.

You have a way with both titles and animals. Great to see such an animal in the wild (and what I'm concerned- at all). Cool pose - great detail and balanced colors. Bravo!

Hi Harry

I'm not so sure that this guy will do well as a "stand up comedian" as he would probably scare the heck out of his audience (chuckle). Those claws are not made for hand clapping.

A great capture though with an excellent pose. The blue reflection on the water surface acted as a great BG that compliments this juvenile grizzly (hope I am right this time – see my PS1). The colours are very natural and the exposure was perfect. I love how you have frozen the droplets in midair after this guy obviously just stood up out of the water. The composition and cropping are well done and the bear have sufficient space to stare into.

Well done and TFS.

PS1. I incorrectly called an European brown bear a grizzly in a posting done by Eduard Baak (snowfalken). Afterwards he corrected me and then I did a quick check on the names and distribution of the various brown bears. Just as a matter of interest you can see my reply here.

PS2. Thanks for the kind words on my leopard posting.

Wow this is superb Harry.
Can't believe the size of those claws!
Fantastic detail and perfect technical control of the image.
The 70-200 is an amazing lens and so sharp, I have only just got hold of mine this week and I already love it to bits!
You have an outstanding collection of professional photographs.
Very inspiring, keep it up!

Hi Harry,

What a lovely, lovely shot!!!

Is this not a female? I think it is a she, and a she who might be nursing cubs from the look of things ...

Seems to be a little backlit which makes for an interesting pic.

Hi Harry,
a very good picture with fine lighting and nice colours.
I like the compo too and the pose is really nice with
all the droplets, The details and DOF are also very good.
Great work.

Ok, now this shot is just awesome. The DOF is amazing almost looks 3D with the bear just poping out of the photo. Sharpness, contrast, and composition is great.

Wow! Just superb!
Thank you for sharing, Harry!
