My second upload of an images wich I did'nt shoot in the wild, but in a safaripark called "Beekse Bergen" in the Netherlands.
Hope you like it anyway.
This is called a Siberian or Amoer tiger.
These big cats like to go in to the water very much.
At warm days they almost always are going for a swim if water is near.

Distribution and population

The Siberian Tiger is critically endangered. In the early 1900s, it lived throughout the northeastern China, Korean Peninsula, northeastern Mongolia and southeastern Russia. Today, it has virtually disappeared from South Korea and is largely confined to a very small part of Russia's southern Far East (the Amur-Ussuri region of Primorsky and Khabarovsky Krai)[citation needed]. There are very few tigers in northeastern China and fewer still in North Korea. Captive breeding and conservation programs are currently active[citation needed].

The tiger population in the wild was probably lower than 50 in the 1930s, increasing to more than 200 in 1982. Poaching has been brought under better control thanks to frequent road inspections.

A count, taken in 1996 reported 430 Siberian Tigers in the wild. However, Russian conservation efforts have led to a slight increase, or at least to a stable population of the subspecies, as the number of individuals in the Siberian Forests was estimated between 431 and 529 in the last count in 2005

Hi Harry

Extremely good shot with excellent lighting and colour. I like the way the tiger arcs through the shot - the reflected paw is also really good. Excellent focus - as usual.

Hi Harry,
Outstanding shot!
I like the pose - "walking on water". Maybe the tiger is too heavy. The second leg is underwater ;)
Brilliant photo.
Congratulations!

Lovely light and colour, and a good pose from the tiger. Well done.

The interesting moment! Water as though has fallen asleep. And a tiger Velvet! Very qualitative shot!

Hallo Harry,
Je hebt echt een super pose weten vast te leggen. Het geeft de elegantie van dit prachtige dier erg mooi weer. Het lijkt bijna alsof je deze in het wild hebt weten te fotograferen.
Groeten.

Hi Harry. This is a excellent shot of the Tiger. you have captured all his detail with your sharp focusing. the colures are so rich. i like the timing with his paw just about to touch the water. very well done and TFS. great notes as well

Nick..

Wow. This is a beautiful image Harry. You are a master of exposure. It is so cool that you caught the paw just a millisecond before it disturbed the water. I like the dynamic, sweeping composition.

Harry, I like the pose of the tiger and the reflections. The BG is actually making a feel of tiger entering to drink the water. Very nice shot. Ganesh

I just can't imagine that people hunt those great animals; it is heartbreaking every time I read that a specie is endangered and God knows how many are...

What a great capture of this magnificent beast! I like this movement you capture with superb POV, excellent details, exposure and composition. This is fun to see that they like water that much, nothing to see with their far cousins, the domestic cats :) Thanks,
Claudine

Beautifully captured ! Great POV and composition is excellent with the curve of the tiger's body leading the eye. What lovely colors, too. Perfect exposure with great detail.

TFS, Mish

Wow, truly rich colors and lovely light on this magnificent animal. I love the reflection of the paw in the water!
