Robber flies are not to be trifled with. Capable of immobilizing bees, wasps and other insects larger than itself, robberflies catch their prey in mid air. As with other aerial predators, robberflies have excellent vision, characterized by two conspicuous compound eyes. The mouthparts of this family have been modified to a stabbing proboscis. Flies were revered by the ancient Egyptians who awarded a military honor in the form of a golden fly pendant.

Multitasking.

That's real live: satisfying all primary drives in the same time.

Small nit: the twig is OE'ed.

Brilliant shot.

Hello Haraprasan.
The moment captured is great, predator and lover at the same time :)
Color saturation and details on insects are good, but I would work a bit more on the BG to reduce noise and green saturations.
It is a lovely shot, thanks and regards.
Felipe.

hi haraprasan,
very nice capture, well composed shot, good details, the colours look a bit oversaturated, specially the green bg,
tfs & regards

We were on the same wavelength today, were we not! ha ha

Great shot - good detail - great subject (dinner and date). :)

Hi Haraprasan,
Very good timing and capture. I agree about green color being too saturated, otherwise good composition.
Regards,
Iris

Hi Haraprasan,

What an amazing sight! You took full advantage of a wonderful opportunity. Good action, colors, and details.

Jane

Hi,
Life and death! I doubt whether the smaller male will suffer the same plight :-). Good picture with very good details. the nit is brightly lit background! what you can do in such a situation is close your aperture and use fill in flash! so that the exposure is only for the insect and not the BG

Wow.This is really very interesting scenery.Well composed this close-up with nice POV and shows good sharp details on both insect.Beautiful colors.Little disturbing light BG,it is pity. However it is amazing shot,I like it so much, you great caught this moment.

Amazing capture! These guys are really formidible. I saw one the other day catch and kill a wasp in midair. My example is a lighter color than these and not a robust. Well done.
