[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I discovered this small beetle also on my daily inspected Salix caprea bush. The picture posted yesterday and many others such "Break Dance", Right Direction!", "Wrong DIrection?" and "Micro-Insects" originate from the same bush.
Species identity:
- Melasoma vigintipunctata
- family: Chrysomelidae
The colour pattern and its size may misguide you to put into the family Coccinellidae.
According to the literature, the species is found occasionally from April to August preferentially on Salix.
Body length: about 7 mm.

On the young and fresh plant the signs of feeding by the beetle can be detected: the leaf basis below the beetle.

Perfect macro shot.Exposure is spot on,focus couldnt be better.I liked POV,natural colors,lighting and sharpness a lot.

il s'agit d'une image peu banale, on dirait qu'elle a perdue sa couleur pour devenir toute grise. Bon point de vue et excellents détails.
