[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Flower crab spider and its prey (probably a bee?). Perhaps, this 'predator' belongs to Thomisus onustus (Walckenaer, 1805). To avoid detection, many species of crab spiders can change color to match those species of flowers on which they typically wait for prey. In this case, the story was developing on a flower of Alcea setosa (bristly hollyhock).

Hi Ilya. This is an excellent shot of the crab spider. Your depth of field is perfect. All the 'players' are wonderfully in focus. The colours are also striking. Great work. Regards, Irmgard

Wow Ilya, I never knew crab spiders could do that. Great capture. There seems to be another insect on the bee's abdomen, nice.
Tom

Great shot!! Excellent sharpness of the bee and spider. U have captured a nice action shot. I have never seen crab spider of this colour. And ur note also is very illuminating. I didn't know that crab spiders can change colour! Great work.

Hi, Ilya:
Excellent photo, the bee was attacked by two predators, the spider and a small fly at one side.
The photo is very sharp and clear and very nice colors.
Thanks
