Glacier Highways, Himalayas
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Yeah, the Himalayan glaciers looked super white heavily snow cladded "interstate highways" from the altitude of 40,000 feet above sea level.|
On my way from Dehi to Leh and then from Leh to Srinagar, I too was glued to the plane's window, watching the scenes unfold themselves, Subhash. I had no camera then, but the images still live in my mind. I specially remember Nun-Kun peaks seen from the flight from Leh to Srinagar and even Nanga Parbat and K2 in Pakistan were in clear view.
Your picture reminds me of my experience and shows one of these amazing views very well. The long glacier in the middle flanked by peaks on either side is very well captured.
Thanks and regards.
So harsh but beautiful.....
Dear friend Subhash
I am amazed about the clear sharp lines of the mountain range!
I photographed the European Alps from commercial flights, the seas and valleys from low flying two seaters, and always were the pictures soft and the colors greenish due to the tint of the windows and/or cockpit window.
Your work is impeccable , ad I add this photo to my theme "high Altitude"thanks for sharing,
Warm greetings from the Tzaneen Dam, Limpopo, South Africa
