Nymphoides indica

The small white flowers of this water plant have yellow centres and the petals have unusual feathery edges resembling snow flakes (hence the common name "water snowflakes"). Another common name is "floating hearts" because the flat floating leaves are heart-shaped, bearing some resemblance to water lilies athough they are not related.

Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Asterales
Family: Menyanthaceae
Genus: Nymphoides
Species: N. indica
