Hello,

Sorry, another sunset!

This was taken around an hour and a half or so after my last post, this time down on the beach itself. These colours are as they were at the time, and this was one of most striking sunsets i have ever seen.
To be in such an amazing place to watch it was a real treat...

An explanation is below as to why these vivid colours in the sky are the way they are..

Sunsets often have a red or orange color to them. Why is this?
Sunlight (what we call "white light") is made up of all different colors of light, each having a different wavelength. During a sunset, more red light is scattered toward you because of aerosols in the lower atmosphere, compared to the amount of blue or green light.
Since, at sunset, sunlight is passing through a much longer path of the lower atmosphere than when the sun is overhead, the effect of the aerosols becomes much stronger.
So, you end up seeing more red light that any of the other colors of light, and the sky appears red.

shot in RAW, levels tweaked slightly and rotated to correct the horizon - converted to JPEG, resized for TN and sharpened.

thanks for looking..

Hi Paul

The light is just stunning here! Glorious warm tones. Great POV and beautifully composed. Skillful work

Hi Paul the colours and DOF are superb especially the rocks in the foreground. I think the sky could have done with being held back by using a graduated filter so the area like the sun doesnt get so over exposed. the other way is to take 2 exposures one for each area then combine the best bits of both in your editing program.I just notice you had a grad filter on so maybe a slightly heaver one? TFS yours Robert

En esta foto se destaca sobre todo el primer plano y sus reflejos, de gran realismo y belleza. Quizás sobra alguna décima de segundo de exposición, pero quizás por ello te han salido tan bien las piedras. Saludos.

Hi Paul,
I for one never tire of looking at sunset images and this one is superb. I love the colour you have captured on the rocks. The silhouetted hills look superb too, nice POV.
Cheers,
Debbie

Hi Paul,
it's amazing what landscape shots you produce from the british coast.
Sharp with excellent lighting.
Well done,
Joe

Hello Paul,
Great sunset image with very beautiful colored sky and most wonderful last rays of sunlight shining on the stones.
Composition with the stones in the foreground, leading the eye perfectly in to the wonderful scene, is perfect.
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Harr

Hi Paul

Great composition - I particularly like the way that you have used the reflected light on the rocks to enliven the bottom of the frame.

Where exactly is it by the way?

James

Hi Paul.
Awesome image. The use of light on the foreground rocks is stunning. Great detail and colour throughout and the composition of the lead in from the foreground rocks works perfectly.
Stunning

Ain't Mother Nature Grand?

G'day Paul.
Don't be sorry! I think most people love a good sunset, and this one is exceptional. Awesome light and colour. Great composition. Great location. I'm still slightly hopeful that I'll make it to England this summer. I'm so inspired by shots and sites like yours. Very well done.
Best regards, Steve.

Hello Paul,
This ia amazing! What wonderful colours and detail, captured from a good pov! The dark silhouettes and the golden light catching the rocks are also eye-catching! It doesn't look to belong to this planet!
I just loveit and am going to add to my favourites!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Paul,

Lokks like something out of a fairytale. Beautiful!

Kindest regards,

Hi Paul,

Glorious picture. The beautiful light adds a magical effect..

Hello Paul!
I am starting to think that you do not take other pictures than great :) And that is really good! This is another fantastic RAW presentation. Lovely colours of sunset, beautiful panoramic POV, amazing climat... I can write longer and longer :)
But this time I also think that one element is a little to aggressive. The white part of sky (I mean the centre of sun) is paying a little to much attention as for me. It would be better if white colour would be change for yellow (?).
Anyway, the most important thing of this presentation is very good - the picture pay attention! :>
TFS and I am waiting for the next photo in RAW technique ;>
