This is a nest of a weaver bird i believe...
Amazing what these birds can build to protect itself from the rain...
this is clicked in Jim Corbett National Part in Uttaranchal India, though its a off season but the park is open as to reduce the poaching which used to happened at this time when there were to guards.

Looks like a weaver (genus Ploceus) nest. There are at least 4 species in India: Philippinus, Manyar, Megarhynchus, and Benghalensis. It would be great if you can get a picture of the bird to allow more precise identification. I recall seeing a colony of Ploceus Manyar nests in Kerala several years ago. They are really cute birds with a distinctive pleasing song. Nice picture of the nest.
