Hi Emma,
stunning shot, you really looked for the composition here IMO. The clouds are obviously fantastic and the peaks on the right lead the eye nicely through the frame. Seems you had much better weather than me on my visit, both times i crossed through Rannoch Moor it was either raining hard or completely overcast. Look forward to more of your shots.

Hello Emma,
That is a heavy reflection!!
Amazing to see a lake this size so calm all over, and the water surface works better than any polarizer...
The varied light adds interest value to the scenery!

Ho Emma
What an amazing picture. I'm really impressedby the reflection of the landscape in the water. (I always admire photos with reflexes in the water). Wonderful landscape, colours and sharpness of the picture. I like also the frame made from the grass on the bottom of the image. I really would like to be in the place you have taken picture of.
Congratulations

Breath taking, Emma! I am saving my $ for a trip to Scotland, hopefully some time in the next five years. Glencoe, Rannoch Moor and the Strathspey-Badenoch area are the places I most want to see and photograph -- preferably at heather time.
That is an amazing reflection Emma. I'm sure Niek had a great time with you as tour guide. It does look very uninhabited. I'm not sure what you mean by "straighten the peaks". The only things that bothers me a bit are the very dark foreground grasses and the reflected sky being so much more saturated than the actual sky. it is a lovely scene though.

Hi Emma,
A very impressive image!
I like so much the mirror effect of that calm waters, it really works like a true mirror.
It's very good the different light zones got along the image, thanks to the clouds, it adds variety and richness to the composition.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Hi Emma,
I'm not sure if I will have a HDR version uploaded, but I will surely have a photo that looks a lot like this. Same water, same clouds but just a slightly different POV. Actually, I haven't even checked these photos yet, so I am not even sure what they are like.
It looks like you had a great trip up north and got very lucky with the weather. The nasty stuff actually stayed more south untill I boarded the plane.
You captured the magic of this place perfectly. It was funny to realize that the road is only 50 meters away.
TFS,
Niek
A wonderful image, Emma. I really love what you saw, and I think you did a great job recording it. I love those soft green hilss, the puffy white clouds, and the crisp reflection. I am a little bothered by the difference in the exposure in the clouds versus the reflection. I have a couple options that you might want to consider:
1. Play with the layers a bit more to match the exposures.
2. Crop some of the OEd clouds on the top, and make the story about the hills and reflection (I like the grass on the bottom, and I think a pano crop would bring them out even better.

Hi Emma,
A truly breathtaking capture. The mirrorlike state of the lake is quite amazing with not a ripple in sight.Good handling of the contrasts between the dark and bright.Your composition is also very good as you have cleverly added just a touch of the foreground bank and also fully emphasised that the lake is the subject. This is great stuff....well done.

This is very well taken Emma. There's good balance between the mountains and their reflections, and I like the way you included the strip of grass at the bottom - having that barrier between the frame edge and the rest of the image works a lot better than if you just had the water there.
Like you say in your note, I think it would have been better if you'd used the ND grad - the cloud detail and saturation of the sky are stronger in the reflection, and using the filter would have balanced it out more. Even so, you seem to have done well sorting it out in PP, but the ND grad would have saved you a lot of faffing around on the computer (as I'm sure you know!).
I think it's a very good shot Emma, well done.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Emma,
I give some critiques on Niek his photo from the lake. No it is a perfect shot. Your's also. But this is an another POV. The colors are natural. You create more depht in the photo. I like that. Your mirror effect is amazing. The sky (clouds) are beautiful. Sharp as well. Great job. Thanks Regards and TFS Bob

Since your photos are far above the average level here I had to add you to my (short) favourites list. I hope you don`t mind:)
I picked up this photo randomly from your gallery but any of them would be enough for me to say:”You are one heck of photographer!”. There! I`ve said it!:)
