Don't know the ID of this wader. I guess it isn't some kind of Sandpiper.
Update: thanks to Tom (pirate)...it is a Green Sandpiper (see interesting critiques)

Taken in the wild through an open car window without beanbag.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Annick
Very nice capture.Good composition and sharp image.Colors and Bg are excellent.I like the reflextion of the bird in the water.
TFS Michel

Hi Annick,
Great sharpness and contrast. The DOF at F8 seems to be more than I expected ! I would be happy if you can share your observation regarding Bokeh when stopping down this lens. TFS, Regards

It is a great shot. I wonder if it is a Curlew? I lived in Curlew WA which was named for that bird. Whether this is one or not I do not know but it looks similar to drawings of same. Perhaps its bill is not curved enough. Perhaps a sand piper or plover of some sort?

fraaie foto Annick,

Great hand held capture Annick, luv that reflect :)
Nice work!

Hi Annick,
It looks like a Solitary Sandpiper. (See: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Solitary_Sandpiper.html)
Good posting, nice colours and natural environment. TFS
Regards, Mario

Hi Annick,
Looks to me like a Greenshank. Very much like the illustration in the Readers Digest Book of British Birds which I find very accurate for description and colours.
As does your photo.

Hi Annick

Lovely shot with an awesome reflection. All the technical points are again just right. I gotta say again, I love your gear, and you sure know how to put it to good use. Congrats! :-)

Hi Annick,
Nice photo, the reflection is well seen. Good clear and displayed photo,
Smiley tomorrow.

Annick, this is great. Excellent sharpness, pov and composition with the reflection.

I enjoy lighting too.

Well done.

Hello Annick.
Very beautiful. Great capture. I really like the reflection. It really makes this image. Well done.
Regards, Steve.

Hi Annick,
A beautiful bird. Don't know the ID either. Very nice composition and details. Excellent POV. Thanks a lot for sharing. Have nice Week end.

Hi Annick
Mario was close to it, Solitary Sandpiper is the american counterpart of this bird a Green Sandpiper Tringa ochropus.
I made a WS with horizon correction, hope you like it

Great capture with a beautiful reflection and detail. The light is very nice as well. My nit (or taste) would ask for a lightly tighter crop. Uploaded it to the workshop to show what I mean.
Minor issue though! :)
Cheers, Klaus

Hello Annick,
I missed this fine shot of a Green Sandpiper while I was away. Technically of high quality, the reflection is an added bonus. The composition is perhaps a little too central but that's a matter of taste: it's a pretty good shot anyway.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan
