A love declaration doesn't ask always for lot's of roses. Just a simple daisy, growing quietly in the grass can do!
------------------------
BELLIS PERENNIS
The most common species found in our region, as in many parts of the world. The french name "Pâquerette" is related to the fact that these little flowers come generally around Easter (Pâques). They grow in prairies and in lawns. They develop very quickly, spreading seeds around and around from year to year. Botanical name comes from the latin "bellis" (beautiful) and "perennis" (perennial).
---------------------------
Evening light, hazy sun and a bit of crawling in the grass.
Shot and adjusted in RAW mode, converted to jpg.
Cropped and mirrored to place the flower on the right side, USM (200 - 0,8 - 0), framed and reduced to site size.

Very, very nice Jean Michel. The placement of the daisy to the right is superb. The OOF BG is fantastic. This is a super shot. Nice work. TFS

Jean Michel, superb! So simple a flower can be so beautiful. I love how the main flower is so sharp, and the others fadde into the blurred BG. Well done. TFS.

This is very nice Jean.
Good use of selective DoF with the other flowers nicely out of focus.
Beautifully composed with good exposure and detail. TFS

Wooooo.. it's my favourite way to show flowers... with limited DOF. Great light and composition. What a pity I cannot give more pionts! Regards, Astrid

This is so beautiful !! very simple, understated but very very effective. Comp is great, and the OOF flowers put more focus on the main flower.

well done
Elize

Wow, Jean Michel this is stunning! This composition is perfect and so is the sharpness!

Very well done and thanks for posting.

Beautiful capture, Jean Michel, the single flower stands out very well, good DOF and whites nicely handled. Spring is finally in the air ;-))

Très joli... une profondeur de champ idéale pour ce genre de photos... et je vois que vous avez "gradué" pour passer à la Canon 20D qui donne un piqué vraiment parfait, Félicitations!

What a beautiful composition Jean Michel! Perfect idea with one sharp flower and blurred ones on BG. Sunny and joyfull.

Such a pretty capture, so simple. Excellent composition. Well done.

Plain composition, but it still works. Good POV and sharpness.
Well done.
TFS.

Very striking composition. Exceptional use of the DOF and it creates a lovely effect. Thi sreally has impact. Perfect!

Very beautiful daisy and image Jean. BG is well done and suggestive. The detail in the perfect flower is . . . perfect! Good posting, thank you.

Très jolie scène printanière Jean-Michel. Avec un sens de la composition qui ne se dément pas d'une prise à l'autre, celle-ci figure en bonne place parmi mes favorites. Très bon piqué et superbe arrière-plan.

Absolutely stunning. The single daisy centred out from the rest. Lovely. The blades of grass really add a good foreground. Well worth rolling around on your stomach for.
Would love to hang this photo in my house.

What is this, Jean Michel? Your F-717 must be crying at home, with this new toy you have.
The first one is really good, and advices a very good work to come! Nice compo with overlapped layers of focus. Thanks for sharing.
