[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I thought I go a little more westward in my travelogue. This was my second day near the area of Glencoe and the day I met up with Emma (Aramok). Emma Picked me up that morning and that afternoon showed me the wonderful area of Rannoch Moor and Glen Ettive.

While I am writing this, I am reading the Note of Emma's photo, since I am not that familiar with the area. I know from her note and photo that the highest mountain in this photo is Stob Ghabhar. I have to admit that I was surprised that such beauty was so close to the road. I always thought that the photographers out here needed to undertake a huge hike to see such beauty. I have to admit that I actually liked it.

Not much has been written about Loch Tulla, but the following is actually something I did see myself:

Lying between Bridge of Orchy and Kingshouse, Glencoe, Loch Tulla is surrounded by remnants of the old Caledonian Forest. A local roadside sign proclaims "That which burns never returns". Stances of Caledonian Pines have dwindled considerably over the years.

I would like to thank Emma for taking me out on this trip and showing me this beautiful area. I really enjoyed the two days at this area and hope to return to it soon.

In regards of the technical aspect of this photo. I had to tone down the exposure a little, since it came out a bit too bright. I also cropped the photo to a more panorama like composition. It does not meet the correct size for a panorama, so you have to do it with this. I've only made a small adjustment in brightness in the water part and ofcourse sharpened it.

I am a bit in doubt with the correct location. According to Wikipedia this is located in Argyll and Bute, but I see that Emma used Highlands. Can somebody inform me which is correct?

it looks like a wonderful day, Niek. I just love to get out the camea on days with those puffy white clouds. You've done a great job recording it, I especially love the reflections you've captured. I think the panorama works well here, too. I don't have anyhing to suggest on this beauty.

Hi Niek,
an excllent shot, the clouds somehow seem to have movement in them and the receding line of hills adds heaps of depth. Very well exposed and clear and sharp throughout, naturally.
Very well done.
Paul

Hi Niek,
I was waiting for your post of this stunning place, since Emma posted hers.
I like so much this other view, in which the amazing cloud's formations and its shadows are part of the main composition.
The weather was great that day and took good advantage of it.
Well done and thanks for post it.
My best regards,
JM

Ah simply beautiful Niek! Beautiful reflection with those lovely puffy cumulous clouds! Good work in giving the top two thirds to the land and sky; it's well balanced that way. This goes down as one of my favorites from you. Excellent work Niek.

hi Niek
Sueprbe paysage tout en effet de miroir, le lieu est bien exploité et le grand anfle bien utilisé pour donner cette effet de fuite.
good shot

hello niek,
very beautiful landscape shot, excellent point of view, nice colours with good contrast, the white clouds on blue sky make great impression and the reflection on the water adds to the look,
very well done,

Hi Niek, this is a beautiful capture of Loch Tulla. The weather was cooperating fully to give you that great sky and clouds. The reflections in the lake are excellent. The colour throughout your shot is very good, with perfect saturation. It looks good in the sky and in the hills but it's also picked up in that reflection in the water. Your long landscape format works well with these rolling hills and the water.

Thanks, John

A stunning capture of this beautiful location in Scotland, Niek.
Fantastic cloud shapes hovering above the mountains and being reflected on water.
The exposure is just perfect.
Well done and TFS.

Hello Niek.
Very beautiful. Lovely reflections and great colours. I love that sky. And a good pano crop. Very well done.
Best regards, Steve.

Hi Niek.
You are right. These places are similar Emma's landscapes. I like your very nice picture. Beautiful cloudy sky, amazing mirror reflections, perfect colours and lights are so impressive. Sharpness is great too as well as the whole composition of the shot. Perfect done and best regards.
Alexei.

Super image! The crystal clear water created an almost perfect mirrored image. Great clarity and color. Scotland has some great landscapes.

Well done,
Reid

great place! i like "panoramic" format! very good composition, fantastic reflections! tfs

Hi Niek,
I've just taken a look at Emma's capture and I can only say that this is a cracking one as well.Everything is exposed really well and I like the angle to the range of hills that draws you in.Maybe a slightly indecisive cut but other that that a pleasure to look at.
Regards, David

Hi Niek

Finally managed to get chance to re-write my critique to you. the thunderstorm lasted for hours and my electricity supply was a little too unreliable during it.

Glad to see you include the signpost in your notes. It has stuck with me over so many years!

I really like your composition here and the details are excellent, though you have suffered slightly from OE'd whites in the clouds a touch as well me. never mind... can't always win.

It was a beautiful day wasn't it! I have been looking at the Loch Etive pictures and they have come out really well.... hopefully upload one tomorrow or Tuesday....

You have really framed this one very nicely.

Hello Niek ! You did very well again on this breathtaking landscape. I like everything in it. Wonderful job my friend.

Hi Niek,

Lots of good things in this picture. What is outstanding to me the first time I saw it is the massive clouds and the reflection. Nice play of light with the shades on the mountains. TFS.

Hello Niek !
Stunning picture ! The reflection on the lake is perfect, like a mirror ! I also like the beautiful natural colors and the wonderful clouds in the sky with their reflection on the water. Composition and POV are perfect. When I see this picture, I just want to jump in a plane and go on holiday in Scotland ! :-) very well done !
valerie.

Hello Niek,
This looks like the same landscape I critiqued from another TN member recently..A most excellent wide-frame panorama here. Top notch work, a quality image without a doubt!
Very well done.
Howard

Hello Niek.

Excellent picture, nice composition and colors.

Jose Luis.

Hi Niek,

Been rather busy recently (wedding things mostly!!!) but just had chance to look at some of your shots from your Scotland trip - some beauties there, I'm very envious!! This one especially is a wonderful shot, the colours and composition are lovely - the mottled sun and "Simpsons sky" really suits the scene perfectly. Great work.

wow, this is really excellent....what a gorgeous view, sharpness....love the reflections as well...just like a dream...superB

Hallo Niek,

wondeful picture with a reflection of colors ,very good composition..

TFS,
Anil Pinto

Excellent shot! The clouds look dynamic, and the reflections along with the greenery are breathtaking.
