In the evening-light this little butterfly was shining so beautifully and was probably installing for the night, so I could approach very closely. I think it is an Aricia agestis (Lycaenidae), but am not really sure a 100%.
The weather being quite bad this summer, I have seen far less butterflies as normally this year. Actually we have floods around here and in almost the whole country. From my window I could see yesterday the River Aar flow over. It is quite impressive.

Hello Anne,
Yes, this looks like a Brown Argus in the evening sunlight. Lovely sharp capture in fine colours. I like its resting pose and the composition is beautiful.
We've less butterflies here too and many a farmer's fields are under water. I wonder what sort of autumn we'll get after this!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Anne,
Nice capture of a resting A. agestis: it is typical for many Lycaenids to restwith the head facing down, which gives better protection against bad weather. Nice warm evening light and excellent sharpness and detail both of the butterfly and the stamens on the grass flowering head.
We too have had lots of rain, lots of wild flowers but relatively few butterflies.
TFS and for your kind words on my 1st anniversary with TN!
Best wishes, Ivan

Moody light, Anne.
Good compo and colours.

Nice close up, rich in colors and detailed.

Salut Anne!

Hi Anne.
The evening sunlight colored the butterfly very attractively. It is true. I like whole scene. It's tender and nice. Your POV is so impressive too as well as excellent DOF (sharpness of the butterfly and half-dry plant). BG is also wonderful. Plesant work. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.
