I thought much of my wilderness on the day I posted this...today for you if this is the first time you have seen it....time is nothing...there is no time...only now...and it is gone as I say it. These are aspens and I have pictured them before...however these are my special aspens. They reside on my old homestead and in my mind. And though I have not seen them for over a year now, I suspect they are still there and look as though they will become this golden color soon. Fall is in the air. It is hot still, yet we know from watching the animals. Squirrels gather nuts...bees die of thirst...they know...and I know...It is coming.

This picture is my memorial to the end of summer soon upon me. The only way one can picture autumn is through color and knowing.... knowing that these trees will again next spring go green. To everything there is a reason and a season...it is written in all ancient books and it is posted today for your mind to picture and remember...sometimes in this coming cold and harsh winter, we must all have spring to look for.

Aspens golden presented at their height of color...and patterns of branches and shadows with backlight so fine....what could be better than the smell of cider and pumpkin.

How beautiful. I love this shot, the blend of colors, the contrast, and the mood. This is nature changing, beauty unfolding as vegetation starts to prepare for their winter sleep. Nice, wonderful capture.

Do you remember the movie "Endless Summer"? It was about some surfers following summer around the globe. I have often thought I would like an "Endless Autumn"... traveling the world, following autumn from northern hemisphere to southern. I wonder if then I would actually get my fill of autumn colors. I doubt it. It's my favorite season .... and always too short. Thanks for the preview of coming attractions.

Bob,
When I saw the register and noted the title I started to assume you'd say something about the 'song' entitled, also, "Autumn Leaves" to go along with the image. However, when I ventured forward on your "DELIGHTFUL" musical melody of words I was soon, SOON, transported into another universe. OUR world has time because we have a sun; in reality, it is as you put it, regardless the sun,
"...time is nothing...there is no time...only now...and it is gone as I say it."
Within this photo I see: A GENTLE, ENDLESS "MOVEMENT".
I "see" ..... FOREVER.
Your pal from 51.000 & -114.12000 with the flat roof,
Mario.

Hola Sr. Bob.- Una agradable y hermosa postal de este bello bosque. Los colores de las hojas lucen exelentes colores y con gran nitidez. Saludos Luis52.

Autumnal foliage in your country is always spectacular, Bob. I love it because the mountains I come from originally in India have similar transformation in colors during autumn.
Apparently, you image sends me down the memory lane.
The image is very beautiful indeed.
Thanks for sharing and best regards.

Hi Bob,
A nice collage of Autumn colors. Time passes so quickly and Summer is rapidly coming to an end. School is starting and soon the days will be noticably shorter. Sometimes I am envious of the North with it's distict seasons. Enjoy the transition and take many photos.

TFS

Excellent advice. Live in the NOW! Not always easy to do. Very nice warm image with such a variety of yellows and golds and browns. Well lighted from the side. Well done.

TFS!

In one autumn afternoon, braving a sudden hail storm I was returning to office. That time I was photo coordinator of an evening daily in Calcutta. Suddenly I watched a semi-nude, skinny teen aged girl, probably a bagger, standing under a tree within the dust and falling leaves. I took the photo and published it with the title 'Hungry Autumn'. Next day my conservative editor, called me and warned for using such picture. Autumn is the festival season in Bengal. Famous celebration of Goddess Durga worship, enjoyed all over India. The hot and humid weather took a sudden turn. The green leaves slowly change the colours; then started falling. The gorgeous trees started loosing their glamour. They look just like that skinny girl. Yes Sir, You clicked the beauty nicely and wrote about the next. But the real future…… who knows?

Hi Bob,
Oh....what a beautiful shot with such lovely colour tones and freshness. Amazing how these leaves are of different shades and collectively they look so gorgeous. Excellent POV to capture this scenic beauty and very well composed. Kudos.
TFS.
