Waterlily in a pond of Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens (Brisbane).
What I like most in this picture is the contrast between the bright yellow center surrounded by the lavender pastel tone of the petals, with the green leaves.

Waterlilies belong to the genus Nymphaea (family Nymphaeaceae, order Nymphaeales). Waterlilies are not related to lilies (family Liliaceae, order Liliales). They are about 50 species of Nymphaeae.
