Some have asked if I missed the ocean shores of California. Yes....however there is only one season there...FOG. Yet I was born in Ohio and the wilderness of Washington State is much like Ohio's weather...4 seasons, but without the buildings and big cities...Instead we had mountains and trees, creeks and wild animals. What more could one ask for in life...

So......pause yourself.... on this particular fall day, we specifically and most deliberately took a drive up the mountain "road" of gravel and clay, to see what fall had brought us as a gift this year. And it didn't disappoint, for every day was a gift of beauty. Whether it was sunny, fog covered, snow covered or color filled, it had a personality which it displayed as though it were proud of what it had done. The Aspens were golden and shining with their auras... the grasses dried and blended earth tones subdued in favor of the greater of the species.

Beyond and back....stood almost silently watching the changes, Mount Elizabeth. Barren granite rock with few cracks and a home to an artesian well which starts the seen place of Empire Creek, then flowing down it's sides onto the creek beds.. further down.. gathering speed as it dove towards the valley 10 miles back to the paved one lane road from where we started.

I am a simple man... of Love and Light. I am a mortal among other mortals. I only do my given task, of writing to you in this way. I write that which I know in my heart. It was told to me over 20 years ago, to pass along to all who would see and listen, my words of these small accomplishments on a path which I alone chose for myself and family followed. So you too can see the view from my eyes and from my heart, which is why I chose to write these words to you today....May Peace be with you all on this day and everyone that comes...and yes, I shall be here tomorrow.....but one day there will be no more tomorrows for me...for I am simply man and truly mortal.

As we fall further into autumn's cooling embrace, we arrive at a time of transition. Not muted in tones nor vibrancy yet restrained in nature , floating in space, receding — inviting us to think on the eternal cycles of nature from a point of vibrational equilibrium within.

Superb notes and wonderful image. The golden glow gives it a very nostalgic feeling.

Hi Bob,
Looks like a hard climb. Nice composition with the diagonal horizon. Excellent Autumn colors. Very well captured. Looks like Dean may miss Galveston but it's too early to tell.

Hi Bob,
an outstanding shot of this beautiful landscape.
Sharp with brilliant colours.
Well done,

Every morning I looking for your post,
because are a placer for my eyes and your notes
for the soul. In Florida is hard to practice
this kind a shot, the only mountains are the garbage dump from the cities :)are landscape is so flat that we can see from Miami to Jacksonville from the top a five foot ladder :-)
I can see throughout your shots the wonders up north, Thanks for showing this great American
Landscapes in a way only you can do, regards/Lawhill

Beautiful notes. WOW!
Great lines and glorious colors. GLORIOUS is the best word for the shine of the golds and the sapphire of the sky.

bonjour Bob

vivement l'automne

Buena iluminación.
Saludos y hasta pronto, JL.

Very interesting multi-layered image with the grasses, trees, mountains, and sky. Well done.

After my wife left for office, I got a chance to enjoy a little smoking and watching your photographs and notes, which I enjoy a lot like the mountain and the colours of the green. After lying in bed for few days now I am trying to regain my fitness for the mortal world. We all are mortal but we have to face the mot in every steps and to think 'NEVER LET THEM DIE'.

Great note and beautiful colors and pov! Very well captured. TFS
