[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have been very lucky shooting butterfly species various times at various places but could not manage decent shots with some species like the one posted here, Grey pansy, Common Leopard, The Wandrer, Crimson Rose & chocolate pansy. I have taken shots of these species but never posted due to inferior image quality. This image has been posed to add another species to my collection of butterflies.

Details about the Species: Common Tiger (Danaus genutia)

It has Wingspan of 75-85 mm. The sexes are similar. The wings are tawny with heavy black markings along the veins; this butterfly is called the Striped Tiger in India. The scent patch on the male is oval and is located on the second vein of the hind wing.

A common, widely distributed species that occurs below 3000 feet elevation. However, unlike the Plain Tiger, it prefers wetter areas and is rare in the driest parts . An inhabitant of lightly wooded areas, home gardens, hedge rows, waste places and cultivated lands.

Hi Pankaj.
Here still a quite pretty butterfly. It looks like a bit damaged, poor BF. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Pankaj,

Even a worn butterfly can look beautiful. This stands out so well against the black background. Lovely composition on the pretty leaves. Beautiful colors and good details.

Hi Pankaj,
A beautiful capture of the stripped tiger. You are lucky enough. Because these species are very difficult for me to capture. Very nice composition and details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Nice composition! Works very well on the dark BG. Beautiful! Cheers, Klaus
