[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A killdeer on her nest .. I was able to get within 15 feet of her nest (if you look under the bird you can see her 4 eggs..

I crawed up on my knees (in the rocks) and got as close as I could .. she started to get up and I backed off a little .. she went back to the nest and watched me as I shot about 10 shots..

If I was to get closer she may have run off and played hurt.. Killdeer will leave the nest when danger is about. they run off about 20 feet or more and play hurt.. they flap one wing to look like an easy meal .. when the photographer or egg eating critter sees an easy meal it will go after the parent and froget about the eggs.. the parent killdeer then flies off and lives to do it all again tomorrow..
