As many postings were done on this butterfly I thought of posting this sht only. They seem to be doing mud puddling.

Have a great sunday and great beginning week.

hello ganesan,

what i liked the most here is the light passing through the wings of the butterfly, it creates nice effect here, the eyes of the butterfly is clearly visible here, very suitable pov,

again you have opted for iso 800 here, with a fast shutter speed of 1/1250 seconds,
i feel you may get better results with lower iso settings,a bit slower shutter speed and smaller aperture,

was there a problem of light when you took this shot? you may refer to work of howard to see excellent macro shot, he use sigma 150 mm macro lens,

I have made a theme on macro work presented in TN and it includes work of howard, jorapvi & extramundi besides the post of other members,, I always refer to them to understand and learn about doing better macro photography,

If you want to have a look here is the link:

Hi Ganesh.
I like impressive back light at your nice picture so much. Structure of the beautiful butterfly wings is looked excellently. Pictured scene is so attractive. Composition of the shot is excellent as well as the colours and details of the insect. However let me share some my thoughts. I use ISO 800 very seldom at poor light conditions only otherwise I will have noise problem and can lose some details. At your light conditions I would apply a bit smaller aperture value, for example, f/8 or f/11. Your DO Fs a little bit shallow: ends of wings are soft a bit. Usually I use aperture priority mode. At every subject I know proper aperture value and check the exposure time only. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Narayanan,
Splendid shot!
Wonderful butterfly with magnicifent colors!
Excellent POV, sharpness and contrast.
Register rich in details.
Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations!

Sorry for my belated response to your latest work, Ganesan. I was somewhat busy after my return from Himachal.
This is a very good capture of some greenish yellow butterfly. Though some parts are a little blurred, the sharp focus on the head and especially on the eye compensates for the aberration.
TFS and regards.

Beautiful capture and great light. I second pankaj on the notion of using a lower ISO setting. But other than that - good work! Cheers, Klaus

Hello Ganesh,
I was struck by the colour of this shot when I saw the thumbnail: the green is quite striking and made more intense because of the light. Pity to use ISO 800 though: you couldhave used 400 and reduced the aperture to get a sharper result without having too low shutter speed.
TFS,
Ivan
