[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The mountain birch (Betula tortuosa), is characterized by the trunk and branches that grow in many twisted ways as a result of the harsh conditions when it comes to wind and snow during winter.

These trees never get tall, and the specimen in the image can be of a considerable age, but still less than 2-3 m tall.

This particular kind of birch is also characterized by the leaves that are smaller than for any of the lowland birch species.

Hi Pablo,
lots of very nice elements here, the detailed FG of the twisted Birch's silvery bark, a touch of water to break up the green in the midground and the trees at the back to add detail against the sky. A fine composition, well done.

a great image

Hi Pablo,

A nice image of the mountain birch and of the lake, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Pierre

I love the white branches of the birch, Pablo. The green bg provides a nice context for it, and I like the off-center compostion that draws my eye to the little lake on the left. The light sems a bit harsh, but you handled it well.
Mike

The image does look simple at first glance, but when one looks at it with some concentration, one perceives a wonderful landscape, Pablo.
With stunted white birches in the foreground, the small pond at mid distance and those tall trees beyond it lend a great depth to the picture.
Your country is really very beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this lovely image.
Regards,
Ram

Bonjour Pablo,
Excellent composition and beautiful colors, nice view and sharpness landscape with beautiful light..Well done..
Michel

Hi Pablo,
No blue sky this time? I like the way you placed the subject of this photo on one side of the frame, so that we can also have a great look at the mountain area. The serene looking lake and trees in the back do create great contrast with the odly shaped birch. Those twisty shapes are very interesting.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Pablo,
Wonderful portrayal of the dwarf mountain birch plant. Amazing formations and shapes of its trunks and branches. The water and the detailed landscape add a lot of strength to the shot and it looks majestic. Superb lighting and a great POV to capture this charming scene. Very nicely composed too. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Pablo, splendid view of lovely place, excellent light and wonderful colors, great and peaceful composition, very well done, ciao Silvio

Un extraño árbol ya que hablar de Noruega es imaginar bosques y no ejemplares sueltos como los que aparecen al fondo de esta escena.
El arbusto que nos presentas aparece con buenos detalles y en un encuadre acertado.
Buena nota.
Saludos, JL.

Superbe jeu de couleurs, fantastique composition.
Bravo

Hi Pablo

A well though out composition. The form of the tree seems to be struggling 'out' of the frame and is well balanced by the small lake.

James

Hi Pablo,
A beautiful scenery. Nicely composed with very good colors and framing. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Pablo.
Again sweet view and great skillfulness at reflection of beauty of the charming places. Sunlight, colours and razor sharpness (plus transparency) of the image impress the imagination. Amazing choice of the POV, framing and cropping. Bravo.

hi friend,
beautiful green lansdcape! The colours, textures and lighting really set this one apart! Take care Ana:)

Hi Pablo,
Very interesting the info in your notes to better understand what are displayed on the picture.
It's hard to believe that that small tree would be of certain age.
I like the composition made here and the details seen of it.
Well done and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Wonderfully composed following the rule of the thirds. Great foreground - interesting tree drawing the eye into the photo.
Great peaceful greens.

Hi Pablo, Superb landscape and a excellent dof, well framed too, you have captured all the elements here very well, the distant hills, a touch of water, the foreground Birch just pleasant to look at, nice composition Cheers Rick :)

Hi Pablo. I love to see the sights around Norway. Before seeing your gallery i imagined just a mountainous alpine country covered in snow and ice, but you show a whole other more beautiful side and i thank you for this. Good colour and cropping. TFS. Murray.

Bonjour,
Sympathique image agréablement composée.
Bonne journée.

Hi Pablo,
Well composed and full of interest view of this white bark tree in your typical forests. As usual, peaceful and really nice landscape to cool my southern eyes.
TFS and best regards mf,

It really is pretty where you live! You seem to always be out in the fresh looking ari, admiring the local beauty! Lucky! My landscape looks like rocky Mt. Everest or Tibet here.... where I love, dry, and lots of fires....

Hello Pablo,

Very well composition with the tree to the right , a silvery birch tree gives always very nice colours. Nice area for a good strolls between the pinetrees in background.

Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hello Pablo,
Those notes are much interesting and so is this picture. I like this composition and exposure. This place seems so wild and interesting. I would be curious to know your camera settings for this one :) Well done and TFS,
Claudine

Bonsoir Pablo!

Hello Pablo,

I think we have both been 'green' people with our recent postings! You wonderful tones of green are soft and gentle, quite a contrast to the scenery which looks wild and untamed!
Lovely composition throughout!

Hello Pablo,
This is a very beautiful composition with these twisted birches on the right side and the view on the splendid landscape on the left. I really love this kind of wild nature. Great picture.
Have a nice day
Anne

Pablo,
This is an interesting note.
Beautifully GREEN. And, beyond the "water" patch looks like a 'golf' setting spot.
Your climate could possibly be as COLD as that of Alberta seeing the stunted growth of the trees. It's a GREAT landscape. Well presented.
Mario with greetings.

Hi Pablo,
Beautiful landscape as a background of this interesting mountain birch. Crisp clear and well exposed image. Also informative note. Very well done.

Hello Pablo,
This must be an old Mountain Birch as they rarely show much trunk. Excellent landscape BG showing mountain bogland and presenting the largest specimen that I have seen. In the Swedish mountains the mountain birch is common but grows very low partly owing to reindeer grazing.
So for me this is both beautiful and unusual.
TFS and have a good weekend,
Ivan

sparse trees here and a suggestion of near the snowline
the birch is one of my favourites..the silver birch mainly
i planted one in my garden in london in 1980 as an ornamental tree..around 4 feet high and went back 20 years later..they never cut it...god it was really high and way out of proportion to the house..
this specimen is the one i should have planted
cheers
geof

Hello Pablo! Beautiful birch. Marvelous landscape. Poland is home of birches! Good luck!
