Hi Evelynn,
Fine image of these Cranes.
So cool you could get the eggs in the shot also.
Fine color, comp., POV and good detail for how distant.

Oh my gosh!!!!
This is an incredible capture.
I am sooooo jealous.
I know I have been on this quest to shoot sandhill cranes, any sandhill cranes. I would have been happy to catch them standing, let alone dancing and greeting.
This is just wonderful, with the two in different stances, and the eggs in the nest, out on that pit of marshland.
Very sharp for such a distance, and great exposure.
Love the composition.
TFS. : )

Hello Evelynn
It's still a great shot even though you missed the "high five" dance of hey you're finally home.I love the view of the eggs. The colours are rich and the foreground water has a quality ,colour and reflections that are really neat. The pose of the birds is very good. There is a lot to look at in the shot. And BTW you might not be a wildlife photographer by profession, you have shown us all recently by your wonderful postings you are a wildlife photographer .TFS

Hi Evelynn,
wildlife photo taking sure can be trying at times but when you get a beauty shot such as this one-well it is worth it.I missed out on the sandhills this year but I have seen them numerous times over the years and this shot is a good reminder of that.Nice detail pervades in this photo and the sight of these eggs is super. You have caught a very real scene well with little that needs improvement, except if you could of got closer that is but what can ya do.Thanks for putting up this photo. Hello Evelynn,
Wonderful capture of this cranes in their nesting environment. It gives a very lovely and peaceful impression. Excellent focus on the two birds, both in a perfect pose by the nest. Fine colours too and a very beautiful composition.
Many thanks, Ulla

Hi Evelynn, lovely couple, great composition with excellent sharpness, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio
Lovely critters they are. Nice crisp shot of them, too. I like it a lot. Not too much to add, xcept... my personal taste would be a horizontal crop w/o the grass on the top bg.

Excellent again, Everylnn. Great composition, great setting, really nice sharpness, and those two eggs are a special touch. Very good DOF, especially given your rather improvisational shooting conditions. Tastefull compatible frame and good positioning within it. Kudos! -- Jim

bonjour Evelynn

Hi Evelynn,
Beautiful capture of the sandhills. In a few months they will be here. Hundreds of them winter of the Island. Very well done.

My goodness...you certainly had the depth of field correct on this one...when proper Englishmen say "spot on", it does not always fit, but this one truly does.

Hi Evelynn,
But do realize that waiting for a best light can sometimes takes hours if not days as well.
A pity that you both missed the airborne dance greeting. Although you did manage to get a wonderful and touchy moment as well. I like that one of the parents in watching the area while the other seems to care for the nest. Great colors and clarity and the details on the cranes are superb. No need to change a thing to the photo.
TFS,
Niek
Hi Evelynn
I can manage an hour waiting for the right shot but after that I give up. 3hrs is really pushing it. Did you wait that long or just happen to be there when he decided to call it a day?
Great shot and some wonderful details with great exposure.
TFS
Emma
Beautiful moment. You must have great skill to take this w/o a tripod.
