White Tiger

This White Tiger is one of the three White Tigers you will see at the SIngapore Zoo.

All three of them are actually family. 2 females and 1 male.

This female was playing around in the water when i managed to capture this shot (totally by chance). The interesting thing is they don't hurt the fishes or eat them. In fact, the fishes follow them around when they take a dive in the water. :)

I know if the fish were to be a little higher it would be nicer but heck, this is a cool shot.. to me at least :)

Enjoy.

Something to ponder about

ALL white tigers are cross eyed
, whether it shows or not, because the gene that causes the white coat always causes the optic nerve to be wired to the wrong side of the brain. That is why white tigers are such a favorite of the tiger-tamer-wanabees; they are far more dependant upon their masters.

"White tigers are an aberration artificially bred and proliferated by some zoos, private breeders and a few circuses who do so for economic rather than conservation reasons"

_____

Someone once told me that you can tell a fake white tiger, or rather called an Albino Tiger, from a real White Tiger. A real white Tiger's fur isn't totally white such as the one you see in this photo. They had shades of brown in it. Albino Tiger's fur are almost as though dyed.. correct me if i'm wrong.

Tiger Jokes

Qn: What's striped and goes round and round?
Ans: A Tiger in a revolving door.

Qn: What's striped and bouncy?
Ans: A tiger on a pogo stick. (actually i would answer "Tigger from Winnie the Pooh"

Ok i've got nothing left.

bonjour Stépanie
très belle image de ce tigre en pleine chasse, même en zoo cela reste impressionnant. J'aime aussi le premier plan bouillonnant, et le poisson "volant".

Must say it cannot stop it from coming out WOW!!!!!! This is an absolutely incredible picture of the fish and to have the tiger jump in at just the right moment makes this an incredible capture. (just kidding)

Beautiful and wow! capture. TFs

What a great action shot! Yes, you caught activity but its more than that...it's the composition that really makes the photo dynamic (versus static). Good job!

Hi Stephanie, congratulations for your splendid gallery of wild creatures, this one is fascinating composition with fish flyng up tiger heads, splendid light and superb effect of water, extraordinary portrait of a wondeful rare creatura, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Steph,
This is an action shot! Those guys are lucky to be able to hunt even in a zoo! It looks like a shot that you could have taken in the wild! Well done and TFS,
