This subject is common for all people. However, at least two reasons exist for post this shot.

Firstly I am ending my Extreme series. Having 800 mm lens combination, I had strong desire to rich the Moon (but what else if not it?). How you can see I have done first step to this purpose. I have a little come nearer to it.

Secondly, there are many wonderful pictured of the Moon, created by my dear TN-friends (as well as shots, posted by other TN-members). First of all, these are pictures, taken and shared by:

Aido (Lady of the Night Sky),
Blakitan (The Grey Moon),
Claudine (The moon),
Coasties (Just Another Moon Shot.. But My First!),
Izler (The Moon),
Luis52 (Winter Moon.),
Marhowie (I'm mooning U – 101),
mlines (Moon – Towards Full Lunar Eclipse),
Pvs (Full moon)
red45 (Turkish Moon)
SelenE (Lunar Eclipse)
Thor68 (*Moon over Cologne*)
and many others.

These shots are very attractive and I wished to join this nice cohort of owners of pictures of the Moon.

And at last. The subject is common but POV is different. This is true Odessa POV -:))). Have you seen the Moon in evening Odessa steppe? I have. Now you have too.

Hi Alexei

This is indeed a very very big focal length and you handled superbly!
I really like you giving us the entire techinical spec. of this photo...this way we can once more learn from your experiments.
Also, it's true, this is the first time we see the moon from the Odessan POV :)... and it's looks very beautiful from there!

I really love seeing all those craters and shapes on its surface and due to your long zoom and your very precise focusing, they are so nicely visible.
Overall: wonderful work!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Great moon! It's so big... Do you see lunatics there? Maybe they hide somewhere in craters... or on the back side on the moon...

Hello Alexei,
Most interesting, great details!
The structural details in the surface is easily recognizable, superb texture and fine colours...
A lovely image resulting from a skilful job!
Greetings,

Hi Alexei,
Wow....superb. Recently there are news of Aliens residing on Moon and that they were already there when man landed and warned us to not come there again. That is the reason given for no more Moon expeditions in all these 30+ years. Hence don't plan to go there, instead click these fabulous shots from your 'Odessa' POV and let all the TNers enjoy. This extreme series has been an education for me on all counts. Simply outstanding. Kudos.

Alexei, this is the largest and the sharpest image of the moon that has ever been displayed on TN. And it is amazing.
I can see the craters on the surface of the moon as if I am hovering over it in a spacecraft. It is that sharply realistic.
The power of 800mm and your finesse as a photo artist to use it so effectively are strongly manifest in this remarkable picture of a heavenly body.
Thanks for sharing and best regards.

Hi Alexei,
Great details and clarity on the moon's surface seen, even with the crop at the 800mm FL.
Perfect exposure and DOF @ F/13..Thank you for my inclusion in the "I'm Mooning U" club :)

Hi Alexei,
Sorry I have not critiqued recently, my computer has not been working. This is such a fantastic shot, the detail is brilliant as is the lighting,
Thanks for another great shot,
Nick :-)

i have tried these with no success
your shot is pin sharp and with a good set of detail
your exposure details show that the moon despite being seen at night required 'daylight' settings to get the highlights exposed correctly
cheers

Dear Alexei,
the moon certainly is a perfect target to demonstrate the difference resulting from a different person's point of view when looking at the same thing.
In a simple, strict and clear way and by the clever handling of very good equipment - and not to forget your well written, greative notes - you have distributed another both well informing and well entertaining extreme of quality.
