I'm afraid nothing I post now could match the impact of yesterday's post with its amazing colors and majestic setting. We did come across pockets of wonderful autumnal colors in more intimate settings like this that we explored once the mountains were shrouded in clouds. Actually this was taken in the rain. I really enjoy looking for this type of scene to photograph.

This would be considered a "family grouping" of aspen trees. Aspen groups have interconnecting root systems. This allows them to be among the first trees to return after a forest fire.

Hi Evelynn,
truly stunning contrast here, the pale, near white of these Aspen's bark against the rich autumnal colours of the leaves is very striking indeed. Excellent composition too, the bright, golden leaves hangng down in front of the trunks helps add depth. I like it just as much as your previous post myself!
tfs and have a good weekend.

Hi Evelynn,
Another lovely capture from you! If I hadn't read your note I would have assumed these were Birches. Very fine composition in beautiful colours.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Yesterday's post I like more, but this picture is well coloured. It's nice to look at it.

Hi Evelynn!

Don't be afraid, this picture is as good as the other one. Hmm, to be honest, I even prefer this one. Why? Because of its abstract and more artistic aspect. The other one is a beautiful landscape, but from a photographical and artistic point of view I appreciate more abstract pictures or ones that show only a detail or simply a closer focus very much.

The colours are marvellous, I especially like the gradation of the tones from red to yellow and green. The dancing tree trunks are superb and the composition is perfect.

I love it...

Kind regards

hello Evelynn,
Marvellous these Aspens trunks in between of autumnal colours. The result is striking! I see a lot of different colour nuances from the ground to the upper part of the picture. And excellent the composition. Good idea to have included one branch with the yellow leaves. Très, très beau!
Best regards

Hi Evelynn

Actually I think this shot is equally good - just different. I love the contrast of the trunks against the bright leaves - excellent. Well composed - as always. ;)

This is a wonderful picture! Beautiful contrasting colors!!! Great composition and POV.
Very well done

Hi Evelynn,

No, it is not yesterdays picture, but still fantastic in its own right, and 4/5 for sure. I like it very much. It certainly does look artistic, and I wish I had your eye. The composition is excellent. Very well done.

Love the colors in this image.
The white bark really stand out and give a nice anchor to the colorful autumn leaves.
Fantastic composition.
TFS. : )

Hi Evelynn
I wish the ones I took of the birch would turn out this good. You have portrayed some excellent fall colours, and a pleasing artistic view of the trees.

Hi Evelynn,
OH this is so very pretty, I love white birch trees and see so very few of them here where I live on the lake since they are so very fragile. Beautiful colors with the fall leaves and the bright white bark. I like how you focused right up on the trucks and got the bright leaves in behind them. Great fall shot. TFS

Hi Evelynn,
So this is the photo you mentioned when you critiqued my Birch photo. You've got the intimate feel to this photo perfectly. The colors of the leaves do add a wonderful warm feel to the photo. I like the depth and the sharp details in this photo. I would crop the top of the photo a bit more so that the brighter sky is not visable.

Hello Evelynn,
This is a very pleasant image with the bright trunks to contrast the autumn colours in the foliage!
Accurate framing and fine details, well done!
Pablo -

Wonderful details on these aspen, Evelynn. I really love the details on each trunk. I like the way you have composed the bottom line (with the bit of branch on the right). Nice idea to include the red of the bushes in the bg. Excellent job making compensation for the rain.
P.S. Because these clusters of aspen are a single interconnected organism the colors all seem to be so similar at the same time, and whole hillsides can peak on a given day or weekend. It's quite different than a grove of maple (back east or in Japan) where there will be a range of "going off." I love both.

Hi Evelynn,
very nice shot. Great colour and composition. vey well done. tfs. stev

Hello Evelynn,
Very nice presentation of the American autumn. Very nice contrast between the white trunks and red leaves. Also, I appreciate very good exposure - not easy with such light surfaces. And here we may even see all details.
Best greetings from Poland!

Hello Evelynn

a beautiful image with wonderful vertical lines. The colours are rich and well saturated. The autumnal colours are beautiful. The focus and detail is excellent. It reminds me of the art of the Canadian Group of Seven.TFS

This image has a Bev Doolittle look about it. If I look close maybe I'll find Indians hidden in there somewhere. LOL!!!

Hi Evelynn

I love this abstract image, the composition is so simple but it is just perfect. Wonderful colours and perfectly exposed.

great contrast here especially with autumn colours and the aspen barks glowing out from them
the soft lighting from your overcast sky has allowed all tones to be revealed in a fair and not overexposed way..
similar to northlight
