Mother Nature! Such a drama queen!

Drama queen (according to Webster's Dictionary): a person given to often excessively emotional performances or reactions

Do you know someone like that? I have known a good number of two-year-olds and teenagers who fit that category and I must admit that I have also met a few "adults" who play the role too well :D

But there is nothing compared to Mother Nature for playing this role to the hilt, especially in a Canadian fall season. One day she is dressed in calm, soothing green and the next day she explodes in a riot of colours; one minute she is storming and raging with winds and rain and the next she is wreathed in sunny smiles. Like a two-year-old, she smiles at us here before her stormy tears have even begun to dry.

Yes -- that's our lady -- the Drama Queen. Long may she reign!!

Tech: shot in RAW, converted, resized, sharpened edges, added frame and signature and then was forced to reduce the size of the image to keep the quality :( The web does not allow our favourite lady to play too LARGE a role :D

Thanks for looking, for leaving your critiques and comments and have a wonderful weekend.

Hello Silke,
Yes, it's amazing how colours change - today all is grey here! Hopefully more colours tomorrow! Lovely autumn scene. The bright diagonal strip at the bottom really "makes" this shot, perhaps it could have been even broader. Nevertheless a fine shot.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

There you go! I simply adore your new framing. I dare not copy it, lest I be a thief, but it does work for your pictures well. Gl;ad to see you now twice each day:-)

Hello Silke,

Nice composition and gorgeous colours but I do think it is a little soft in focus.

I know a few drama queens too!

Nice work

Hello Silke, I really like the light in this very nice composition, the tress and the clouds show that your exposure is perfect. Well done,

Hello Silke,
What a fine way of expressing the wonders of Mother Nature - the Drama Queen!
One of her roles has been captured nicely by you in this autumnal shot: the October sunshine highlighting the tints of the season while a certain greyness of the sky lurks in the BG as a hint of things to come.
TFS and enjoy your weekend,

Hi Silke, fascinating autumnal composition with wonderful warm colors, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

Hello Silke,
Another attractive autumn scenery, seems like you're having a ball over there while we hardly have seen the sun and now the trees are throwing the leaves...
Pablo -

hello silke,

i am back after a small break of a week and was just going throuuh the gallery and this post of uours caught my attention,

i really liked the way you have framed this shot, it adds to the look by presenting it with great aesthetics, the coliurs and contrast are amazing, the lifhting is perfect, excellent pov and beautiful composition, lovely notes and good title "drama Queen".

very well done,

tfs & regards

Hi Silke,

A good POV of the trees with the fall colors under a cloudy sky, the photo has a good composition, sharpness and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Slike,
I know the problem when it comes to uploading bright colored photos. I had one with a lot of dark red leaves and had to reduce tje quality slider to 4. I noticed that you use sharpen edges for sharpening your photo. I've just tried this myself on a photo and noticed that it doesn't allow you to set preferences. Have you ever tried unsharp mask or smart sharpen? This gives better control over the final result.

I like the pallet of colors you captured here. The wonderful colored leaves contrast perfectly agains the dark sky. The composition with the grass in the FG is great and gives a good idea of distance.

Love the title!!! That's great.
Gorgeous landscape...again.
Just beautiful - the colors are fantastic!

Hello Silke!

Beautifull, autumnal landscape. I like compositon, saturated colours, warm light. Looks like autumn in Toronto is very similiar to our one :-)

ps. all fungi from my last pictures aren't edible! First of all they're too small to eat :-)

tres joli ce tableau d'automne, bonne réussite, les couleurs sont jolies et nettes
bravo et merci

Hi Silke,
splendidly rich colours in cheerfully bright light.
The image has probably lost some of its precision of details in the procedure of downsize to web, but the magnificent depth of contrasts, soft and saturated hues was maintained to deliver a very impressing painting of light.
Thank you! My best regards,

Hello My Friend,

Mother Nature has many faces, this is a very beautiful one! I just love the tones of colour! You have done an excellent job of catching the lawn on a diagonal, it really adds 'oomph' to the overall composition!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Un beau paysage bien présenté.
Bonne journée.
